This blog is about my life.  Nothing special, really.  Just real-time, everyday stuff.  My husband of many years calls me “Squirrely Shirley.”  He knows me best.  I have a very serious, analytical side to my personality, but if you look hard and long enough, you can catch me with my gown up.  My five grown kids call me “Mother Dear,” “Boog,” “Sarge,” and “Can I have $20?”  They think that I think I’m perfect, and, well, I’m almost there.  Being sarcastic here…  There are so many things I love, like good music.  I love hearing and singing close harmony; I can sing all parts; I like traditional instruments and non-traditional alike.  I like sewing and needlework and quilting.  I like my flower gardens and painted metal chairs.  I enjoy taking pictures of anything and am learning the fine art of videography and photography.  My home is littered with books – autobiography/biography, fiction, non-fiction, how-to, reference, Bible in several versions, magazines.  Now, I’m not such a packrat that there’s no walking room.  I keep a fairly decent house and, now and then, can whoop up some mean vittles.  Most of all, I love my family and extended family which now numbers 30-something, but supremely, I love the Author of Life, The One Who made my life a reality, The One Who forgave my sinful ways and saved my soul, The Way, The Truth, and The Life – Jesus.  And that’s my story, and I’m stickin’ to it.

Your bathroom post seems to be ‘closed to comments’ but I had to let you know that I found it hilarious and will you please tell the ‘boys’ than toilets wouldn’t have been designed with a lid, if it wasn’t meant to be used (as a lid over the seat & base).

I can’t seem to comment on your last post. The girl is crazy. I cannot believe that story and how long it has gone on. I pray that it all gets straightened out and that God shows here the way out.

Okay, WordPress has me a little baffled but I am sure I will get it eventually! All the cool kids are moving…so there must be something to it!

I live in Texarkana. Tara and I “met” through the Texas Blogging Gals site…is that a hoot or what?!? We girls will have to plan a date and actually meet up sometime.

Yes, the Psalm is a comfort to me today. I am having a surgery tomorrow that I am concerned about but I know, worry is a wasted emotion. God is in control…I just need to remind myself! Please remember me in prayer and my family as they go through it with me.

Nice to “meet” you and I like your blog. It will just take me some time to get comfortable with the format.

Thank you, dear friends, for all the lovely remarks.
Gay, I still haven’t figured everything out here at wp, so I know how you are feeling. So, where are you?
I think I will like it here when I can get everything arranged. But, wp is a different animal. Definitely not as user friendly as blogger. Or maybe it’s just me…

So thankful that God placed you in my path! Isn’t He so wonderful.

So, what are you thinking? I can agree to disagree, but I do like nice. Thanks.
