Fascinating News from Israel

My Kid #4 Sam attends Christ For The Nations in Dallas and gets cutting-edge world news from his classes.   He is preparing for a mission trip this summer to four countries in Southeast Asia, and while he’s being prepped on the customs and traditions to travel in that area, all eyes at CFNI focus on Israel and events that are unfolding there, because, as goes Jerusalem, so goes the world.

As a young student, I did not appreciate history and the implications of any kind of history.  I couldn’t get beyond the names, dates, and places to understand how historical figures and events fit together to form the larger puzzle.  And that’s what history is:  a large puzzle, taking a span of time and examining people and events to understand a common theme, namely God and religion.

If you view history from a biblical worldview, it’s easier to understand.  To follow history from Genesis → the Cradle of Civilization →Noah and the flood → Abraham → Moses → David and Solomon → Jewish captivity → Jesus → Paul → John → New Testament Church → spreading of the Gospel around the world, the puzzle of putting all world religions and events puzzle pieces into the biblical (Jewish/Christian) timeline is fascinating.

Since the beginning of recorded time as we know it, God had a plan:  To create a bunch of “Our Image” (Genesis 1:26-28) that choose to love and worship him.  And, God Himself chose a peculiar people – the Jews – to which to demonstrate Himself.  (Read the Gospel of John.)  Thus, since the Jews rejected their God-in-the-flesh Messiah Yeshua (Jesus), the gospel message of redemption and salvation was *Hallelujah* preached to the gentiles who believed the message and took the name “Christians.”

Now, follow the Jewish line from circa 70 AD to 1948 and the re-establishment of the nation of Israel, and you will find the rise of many false religions and the attempted take-over of them.  Yet, God still has His plan of re-unifying the Jews and giving them yet another opportunity to accept His redemptive plan for them.

Because, you see, we’re the grafted-in children in watch of The Awesome God dealing with His Chosen People.  He’s preparing for a great feast, His Temple,  The Return of His Son to stake His Rightful Place as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Watch this! (I also posted it earlier.)  It’s awesome!  It will take you about 30 minutes, so set aside time for it.

“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.”  Ps. 122:6

And this is why I love you and this blog. Thank you for pointing your children in the path of Christ. Our world is better because of parents like you.
